With training from Keystone Foundation, the Kurumbas of Semmanarai village formed a self-help group, Amuthasurabhi Makkal Kuzhu and now, process beeswax to manufacture these long lasting candles and fragrant balms.

Kurumbas, an indigenous group of the Nilgiris have been collecting honey from these since time immemorial. In each region certain combs are considered sacred and left unharvested thus preserving the gene pool. This wild honey is valued priceless as medicine and food.
