Mara Kaapi - Liberica Coffee
100g
Liberica, locally known as Mara Kaapi, is a unique coffee species traditionally cultivated by indigenous communities and commonly planted along the borders of their coffee farms as a natural fence. This hardy tree grows much taller than its Arabica or Robusta counterparts, offering shade, pest resistance, and a protective buffer for the more delicate varieties.
The beans are carefully harvested and ground into coffee powder, making it ready for brewing. Its presence supports agroforestry practices, enriches biodiversity, and requires minimal external inputs, making it well suited to community-managed landscapes.
