Liberica, locally known as Mara Kaapi, is a unique coffee species traditionally cultivated by indigenous communities and commonly planted along the borders of their coffee farms as a natural fence. This hardy tree grows much taller than its Arabica or Robusta counterparts, offering shade, pest resistance, and a protective buffer for the more delicate varieties, Its presence supports agroforestry practices, enriches biodiversity, and requires minimal external inputs, making it well suited to community-managed landscapes.
